How to fix: Cannot use Plesk Email Security extension on CloudLinux
Some of our customers have been having trouble with using or updating the Plesk Email Security extension at Extensions > My Extensions > Plesk Email Security (Open). This results in one of the following error messages:
Unsupported operating system: CloudLinux
Unsupported operating system: AlmaLinux
In this scenario, emails get stuck in the mail queue and are not delivered on time.
According to our Support Team, this error is due to insufficient support from the operating system. In other words, RHEL/CentOS, Debian/Ubuntu are the only operating systems that support the Plesk Email Security extension.
The only way to resolve the issue is to install Plesk on RHEL/CentOS, Debian/Ubuntu or remove the extension. We can remove the extension via Plesk with these steps:
- First, log in to Plesk.
- Then, navigate to My extensions under Extensions and select the Plesk Email Security extension name.
- Finally, select Remove under More.
If you prefer to remove the extension via command-line interface, our Support Team has your back.
- First, connect to the server with the help of SSH.
- Then, execute the following command:
# plesk bin extension --uninstall email-security
Once we remove the Plesk Email Security extension successfully, we need to re-queue the messages stuck in the mail queue with the following command:
# postsuper -r ALL
